Lifetime Achievement Award

Our family gathered together for a Multiple Sclerosis banquet where my Dad was getting a Lifetime Achievement Award. The event was held at the La Caille restaurant in Salt Lake. Neither Kurt nor I had ever been there before, it was a gorgeous setting. Lot's of flowers and water and lights BEAUTIFUL! Most of Dad's acceptance speech was thanking Mom for all she has done for him.  I have great parents!  I sure lov'em lots!  Congratulations Dad!

Griffin's first day of nursery

Griff is offically old enough to join his big brother in nursery!  My baby is getting big!  Kurt had reserves so he didn't go to church today.  I was sitting in Sunday School and could hear BOTH of my boys crying out in the hall.  I didn't know wether to go out and help or stay put.  I didn't want to make it worse.  After a few minutes a neighbor came in and I asked if they needed me out there, he smiled and said yep!  So I went out in the hall.  AJ had opened the nusery door and wanted to find me.  Griff was just not sure what was going on. I  joined the nursery class for about an hour.  I left at snack time and waited out in the hall in case I was needed, but all went well the last few minutes of class.

***Update Griff is adjusting well.  The next week he was out in the hall with the primary president for about a half-hour, but the next week he was fine the whole time!

Peach Days

We went to Peach Days for the first time. Gotta love the peach pie!  Kurt and AJ had fun looking at the classic cars at the car show.  AJ thought a lot of them were broken though because they had their hoods up.  Griffin was comfy resting in the stroller!

Camping over Labor Day

We met up with some of Kurt's friends from work and their family at a campsite on top of Logan Canyon just before you head down to Bear Lake.  We had a wonderful time!  We spent a lot of the time 4-wheel'n, Greg's family had a Razor so Griffin could ride in that and Kurt and I and AJ rode on our 4-wheeler.  When AJ got tired of wearing his helmet he would join the fun in the Razor.  We went on several rides and had a great time!  We also went down to Bear Lake one day and splashed around in the water.  Our motor home worked out super!  Some of the adults started to call AJ pigpen because everywhere he went their was a cloud of dust around him.  He LOVED kicking up the dirt!  Grif was  happy to be outside and tried to copy his big brother and do everything he did.  We had a fantastic outing, glad Kurt has some good work friends!

New Truck?

My father purchased a new truck on Friday.  After buying it he drove his old car home and the salesman followed him in the new truck.  They dropped off the car, Dad got in the drivers seat of the new truck and off they went to bring the salesman back to work.  Dad was in the middle lane driving down the freeway.  At the 21st street on ramp a woman came onto the freeway and did not see Dad and was coming over into the center lane almost to sideswipe him, tyring to avoid this woman he went over to the fast lane where his back end clipped another car that was coming up behind him.  This sent Dad flying into the cement barrier on the freeway.  He spun around several times, his the barrier several times and ended up facing northbound (the opposite direction) on the freeway!  We feel VERY blessed the truck is most likely totalled, but Dad is not!  He has one broken rib and is quite sore, but other than that is doing very well. The woman who almost hit Dad got the ticket so her insurance should cover everything.  Dad was joking in the emergency room that he figures the truck cost a little over $2,000 a mile.  Mom said, "Well as long as you enjoyed the ride." I'm glad my parents have a sense of humor about it all!
