I'm a little bit country

WOW! I was able to have an experience tonight that has been a long time in the making! Lance had a migraine and was unable to attend the Pioneer Day Celebration at Temple Square. He had 4 tickets to the performance and Chick didn't want to go to it so he called and asked me if I would like to take Tanah and Grace and go. I was THRILLED! Guess who were the special guests along with the Mo Tab? THE OSMOND'S! YES!!! I was able to actually see Donny & Marie in person! I have wanted to do that since I was 7! It was probably a little more exciting than it actually should have been for me, I was mouthing along with songs like..."I'm a little bit country", "Paper Roses", "One bad apple" and more! All of the Osmond brothers were part of the show, I even saw Jimmy! It was GREAT! It was made even better because I was able to enjoy it with my nieces, Tanah, Grace & Erika (fresh off the plane from Seattle, she's here for EFY).

76 Trombones in the big... (Think Music Man)

Happy Pioneer Day! We went down to the Pioneer Days parade today. Dad Hislop, Chick ,Tanah, Grace and Wakely were able to ride on a WSU float. They looked GREAT! Kurt, Jill, AJ, Kim and Drew were there to cheer them on! Drew waved at everyone and everything, she just knew they were all waving right to her. AJ slept through the whole thing. A good time was had by all!

Malmstroms Memories

Bianca (Kurt's Sister) and Clay came down for a Kyani convention so they were able to see AJ, I tell you he is the star of the party whenever anyone comes over!
Bianca was impressed with my blog she thought it is a great way to keep in touch with people. We sat down at the computer and now the Malmstroms have a blog too! http://malmstroms.blogspot.com/

Lullaby

The other night we were up at my sister's home and AJ was getting a little fussy. Kurt picked him up and started to sing to him...I listened a little closer and the lullaby he was singing was, "Oscar Mayer has a way with b o l o g n a" I thought it was darling!

Sunday Best

We took AJ to church for the first time on Sunday. He looked adorable, so I thought I would post a picture of him in his Sunday best. This was the first time he had ever had on pants or shoes!

Opinionated Already!

The day we came home from the hospital (he was 2 days old) I tried to get AJ to switch binkies from the one the hospital used to a different kind that can be much cuter, but he would have nothing to do with the cute bink, he likes the plain old ugly green one! He has an opinion already!

Sounds, Smells & a Baby Burrito

I just love the sounds & smells of babies. AJ makes the cutest sounds while he is sleeping. Sometimes it sounds like little squeaks and other times it sounds like he is making short humming sounds...Hummm, Hummm, Hummm. I had forgotten how good babies smell (for the most part) I love to just cuddle up with my boy and take a big whiff!

I stopped by Harmon's grocery store yesterday and saw a friend I used to babysit for years ago... so long ago the kids I used to babysit have kids now. :) She saw me with AJ, I smiled and said, "I actually have my own now!" It felt so good to say that! She was thrilled for us!

AJ's favorite way to sleep is wrapped up like a baby burrito. The tighter the better. We have found we need to wrap him up in two blankets because he can wiggle out of one and when he wiggles his hands out, he ends up hitting himself in the face and waking himself up.

Here's a little funny... Yesterday I dropped by my sister Kim's house. She has 2 darling girls ages 5 and 3. They adore their little cousin. Wakely the 5 year old was sitting by me while I was holding AJ, I glanced down at him and said, " Your eyes are getting heavy." Wakely looked at me and said, "Aunt Jill, you are holding his whole body, not just his eyes, how do you know its his eyes that are heavy?" Gotta love how literal kids are!

First Blog EVER

Here is my first attempt at keeping people posted of what is happening in the Gibson household. I love to read other people's blogs so I decided to try to do my own. We'll see how this works out.

I will also attempt to post a few pictures of our new little darlin'. He is SO much fun! Hey, I think it worked. This is a picture of him on the 4th of July, feeling the grass for the first time, he was very comfortable. Here he is holding his bottle...only 4 days old, I think he's gifted. :)

Now I will try to post...cross your fingers...
